Film Lab’s Environmental Sustainability Initiative (“ESI”)

The global entertainment industry contributes millions of metric tons of CO2 emissions each year, raising significant concerns among industry professionals about the impact on our climate. In 2021, the Producers Guild of America issued an urgent call for the industry to transition to clean energy. “Climate change is affecting our productions, endangering our health and safety, and causing irreversible damage to filming locations due to increased pollution, wildfires, floods, storms, and droughts,” they stated. “The current sustainability efforts within our industry are sporadic and fall far short of addressing the severity of the threat.”

Aligned with Film Lab’s mission to combine entertainment with positive social impact, we committed to the Environmental Sustainability Initiative (ESI). This long-term commitment aims to minimize the carbon footprint of our sets and events through mandatory recycling, the exclusive use of plant-based catering, and a ban on single-use plastics.
